Lost in SG - Found in HCMC

Disarming content smile on faces of people, a commodity which is scarce in Singapore, can be found in abundance by taking a 1hr 40 mins flight from Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam.

AB,
The other pics aren't that great. Even the ones posted here are just simple snapshots. There isn't a "hatke" image which would make me feel special.

About the trip overall, it was very short. Just 3 whole days. Though we did manage to cover the 3 major attractions in HCMC, which are :

1> Mekong Delta (the muddy river & boat trip place)

2> Cu Chi Tunnels, a maze of multi-layered tunnels dug by Viet Cong to fight the Americans right under their noses

3> Handicraft Shopping.

I didn't take much snaps around Cu Chi Tunnels, as I was more keen on enjoying the experience as a tourist rather than worry about framing, exposure etc. I have stopped taking myself seriously as an amatuer photographer and have made peace with my mediocrity. I didn't even carry Slide films this time, the pics above have been shot on normal negative film.

ABIW,
I am already a travel photographer yaar. I take pics only when I am travelling, baaki time my camera is confined to the dark interiors of our closet.

Thanks guys for stopping by. I shall visit your blogs soon, been more busy than I would like to @ work lately.

Professionally ? Bhooka marnaa hein kyaa mereko ?

Vaise, HCMC is a photographers delight when it comes to street photography. I sulked majorly, coz i didn't spend much time on feet walking.. 80% of time I was inside my friends car, with the glass rolled up, scurrying from one place to another while all the action was unfolding in the streets. I could see many captivating scenes pass right across me in a blur, but all i could do was sulk and sulk and sulk more.

LL,
The people out there are friendly and pose readily for camera, upon request. So yes, instead of my usual landscapes, i did shoot few 'faces' this time round :)

glad to see the mekong delta pics. Mine are still lying in the external hard disk. Second your opinion about the ppl in HCMC. They are friendly and don't mind getting snapped.
You should have visited the bin thai market as well. like delhi's palika bazaar but different in terms of the sheer variety of stuff on sale

Billy,
It can't happen that one goes to HCMC and doesn't step into "Ben Thanh Market" ! That place is like the fulcrum around which the whole city revolves. On day 1, we just did a quick dry run without buying anything and on the final day, we picked Coffee Powder,Dry fruits, Local candies, Coasters with the trademark Viet Girl design, Trays, Ladies Purses, Chappals etc etc.

My back hurt badly for 1 whole week coz my backpack got too heavy with all that shopping :)

Aria ji, Kam se kam mere akelepan ko toh mat koso. Buss isiki sahare itne door aaye hein. Agar eis ka saath bhi chooth gayaa toh badi aafat aa jaayegi :)
