First one gives an impression that someone senior (the shadow) is trying to look after/protect the younger (window). It's only in the second one that you realize, it's actual invasion of privacy of the younger one :-)

Kidding apart, I liked your interpretation of the pic. The shadow does seem like making an effort to reach out to the tightly shut window.. The window (or the person behind it) however refuses to open up & prefers its isolation from the outside world. Hence the title :)

ohh I am late! I can't think of anything.. just that I am wondering - how can ppl click shadows so clearly .. very interesting! Its more like abstract photography. However I kinda like the sky more than those shadows on the wall.. that blue color of the sky in the first picture is lovely. I don't know why but it seems as if those windows stay shut all the time..

Aria, Yes, that's most likely the case. They are too squeaky clean n elegant looking & don't have that "habitated" look. Or maybe its a case of fresh paint. But most likely its the former. These windows belong to a row of shop houses.. I have never seen them open.
Love the way something as trivial and everyday as this suddenly begins to draw so much meaning. I guess, there are always these little things waiting to be discovered...for the layers of meanings to be unfolded. We just need to look beyond the obvious.

Thanks for stopping by. To tell you the truth, I find this particular image quite ghastly now. The wall is terribly over-exposed. I wouldn't dare show this to (say) someone like Pradz.
I saw the pic that you posted on twitter. Wanted to ask you.. what/how did yu take that abstract pic ? I badly need to get out of landscapes & try my hand at such abstract stuff. I'm stagnating quite badly with my limited repertoire.

But really I don't want to starve to death by quitting my day job. Right now, I can't even claim to be an active amatuer photographer. It's a long hard way to become a full fledged photographer.
Few things which stop me from embarking on that path :
go to a blonde party and say you are looking for some models to shoot for your next bikini calendar shoot... all your 4 listed points will shoot to hell
