These were taken during my recent trip to India. I went to my native place (in Konkan, Maharashtra) after a gap of almost 12 years. (and) This is what I have been missing out on, during all those years. All pics were taken with a simple point & shoot digital camera.

I tried re-posting this blog since the pics had somehow mysteriously dissapeared.. and while doing that i ended up losing the precious few comments that I got from you guys. Damn ! Plz get hold of Chetz if you don't see your comments, coz if not for him I wouldn't have tinkered with this post.

IW .. I remember my comment! I'd said . .bahot sundar hai aapka gaon aur humaara desh. I particularly liked the pictures of the lake and boats and had asked if you go boating there. I'd cribbed that my city only has a stinky yamuna which is more like a naala and I miss a water-body here.
Aur haan .. aapne jawaab mein kaha tha .. we gonna go boating when I'm gonna visit your gaon with you .. I hope you remember that too .. :)

Therez a reason behind that 12-year self-imposed Vanwaas. I had vowed that I would visit my gaon only after I find a girl for myself. I waited.. I waited.. and I waited some more. But yahaa mere dentures pehen ke din nazdeek aa gaye, lekin ladki koi mili nahi :( Fearing that, with such an unattainable vow I might end up never seeing these beautiful landscapes again, I admitted defeat in my quest and went alone (as usual) .
Lekin ab aap itnaa hauslaa badhaa rahi hein, toh next visit 12-saal nahi 12-mahiney ke andar jaayenge, Insha-Allah :)

Your comment is really mystifying. I thought for a long time, wondering what you really meant there. You are agreeing with me (than asuph) eis ka matlab, you too lay the blame squarely on the photographer i.e me. Well I don't really mind being gracious again & plead "guilty" against all charges :) Thanks for stopping by mate.

somehow i'd missed these.. konkan is beautiful no doubt and now that the rains are here.. aah! i'm dying to travel there.. i think i'm gonna get a small place near kudal or smthng and just retire there itself man.. beautiful konkan :)
