Ok

I need to torture you now. Give me the secret of clicking such photos. Apun ko bhi sikhne ka hai.

You should experiment more with photography.

Strong legs. Thats the secret in taking good pics. Just wander wherever your legs take you & chances are you would turn up at a place where you'll find your "subject" waiting for you. Believe me, one needs whole lot of luck aswell with lighting etc. Everything else being equal, most good pics are just a matter of being at the right place at the right time.

Glad you liked this one. To be quite honest, its not that good. Out of 36 pix that I took, this turned out to be least worst. So for the lack of any competition, this one got featured here. Varnaa this would have gone straight to the recyle bin like the rest 35 did..

I quiet agree with you on the evaluation of this picture ! Compared to some of your other gems .. this is pooh pooh stuff !

Right said Chetz, no two ways about it..

hmmmmm
I agree with the stong legs part. Strong arms too , as I've realised, each time I've hauled my cam and tripod anyplace.
Agree with Chet too, seen much better pics from you. This pic is somehow too flat in a lot of ways.

Billy,
Though a bit cliched, this pic is slowly growing on me (how shameless of me to say that). I can almost hear faint strains of "Eis Mod Se Jaate Hein.. Kuch Sust Kadam Rastey..Kuch Tez Kadam Raahey" in the background everytime I look at it.. :-)

I have had quite a depressing time with my Camera for past few months. The lethargy is more mental than anything else. Am trying to shake it off. Hopefully I will have something better to show next time round.

Thanx for stopping by.

If only one of the two : the cycle or the stair had dominated the picture more than the other .. if only the colors were a little more vibrant ..

Chetz,

The thing is, I already have a pic with just the stairs (taken in past during dry season). Check it out here
I wouldn't have bothered clicking another one of the same place.. It so happened that I was passing through the same location and spotted the cycle.. So i included the new element just to see how it looks and also i was desperate to finish the roll ! I had a half finished roll since December sadofying in my camera.. So I was just clicking for the sake of it!

About more vibrant colors. It was incredibly bleak day, in fact the untouched copy is very low on contrast. I tweaked the contrast a bit in PS Elements, otherwise this would have been even more of a disaster than it already is :)

that cracked me up. Though if you are going digital at some point why not do it all the way. Why are you still on the roll. Just wondering

Oh if i was bit careful with my savings (u know the sob story, don't you ?) I would have had splurged on a DSLR by now. That's one side of the coin, the other being I don't want to be in a situation wherein I invest a sizeable sum in a DSLR and then let it gather dust (like my current camera most often does) .

I need to be bit more prolific & motivated to commit myself to a DSLR. Its a big commitment & I am not ready mentally & financially right now.

But i will surely switch.. Sooner than later. Amen.

Now, since I have stopped by again, i think i should add my valuable comment :P.. hehe
seriously speaking.. i liked the other pic more, the one taken in dry season.. for this, i would rather be diplomatic n say .. its nice.. :P

Apy,
You don't really need to be diplomatic, least of all with me. I handle criticism quite well. No worries at all.

Hi, came by your blog through Asuph's. I think this is a good photograph- 1) it is aptly titled, 2) the presence of the bicycle gives "the path" an ordinary feel- and the path- really is Ordinary.
Don't we know of "The Path less travelled"?

... I don't know if I have been able to explain what I felt, but I hope it made some sense.
:)
